Why We Are Here

What U Did Today is an idea that came to life when a few of us got together and realized that in today's world, so often, friends and family are separated by great distances. Sometimes these distances are due to geography, just as often, they're emotional. Nonetheless, we all realized that sometimes we would just like to be able to tell SOMEONE how our day was. So we started this site as a place where anyone can come and tell the rest of us what happened today. Triumphs, small or big, are welcomed, and the inevitable losses we all suffer (and are far more in number it always seems) will be shared as well. Unless you advise us otherwise, we will post your first name and location with your entry. But don't worry, your other information will NEVER be shared. So go ahead, open up, Send us an email telling us how your day was, we all have THOSE days, good and bad....and it's always better when you know that SOMEONE is listening.

Today I finally found the courage to tell the truth, but still no one bothered to listen.

Today I stepped into my bedroom closet and learned either to love or to hate my clothes. Everything in the 'hate' pile was arranged neatly on my bed. I set my free hangers back onto one of the racks, put on a decisive face, and decided which ones might better be sold individually or in lots on eBay. Next up, old video games.

Today, I slept in until 3 in the afternoon, because I quit my job last week. I got up, and began working on websites that will hopefully make me some money on the side until I start my own business. I also drove my car on a flat tire to the grocery store, because I had absolutely no food in the house, and the mechanic couldn't fit me in today.

My ebay sales hit over $100! The best part is I only started selling stuff there two weeks ago!!

Today I finally opened my $25 bottle of Chenin Blanc I treated myself to. It was smooth!! Brings back memories of Waianae, where I learned to drink something other than Strawberry Hill.

Today I talked to my sister for a couple of hours. We hadn't spoken for a while and she has been going through some rough times. It meant a lot to me to share that time with her. She cried when she told me she loved me. I love her so much.

Today I decided to start my path on the pursuit of happyness even though the path will be very bumpy along the way.

Today I got back into the swing of things & started exercising again. I gotta lose the 4 lbs I gained while my daughter was visiting. Too many nights out for meals.

Back to my NutriSystem. Why can't I make salads on my days off but make them faithfully when I go to work?

I have been trying to get the song "We Care A Lot" by Faith No More out of my head for two days now. I don't know why it even got in my head either since I haven't heard it in months. There are worse songs that could be stuck there, granted. Even that La Quinta jingle can't budge it out!

I walked to a new swanky tea shop up the street from my house. It was the first time there's been real sunlight in days, and everyone I passed on the way seemed in the same level of awe as I was. The tea blends at the shop were overwhelming to say the least, and they even serve spiked teas and beer at night. Weird. I bought a few blends to try at home.

Today I bought a piece of strawberry shortcake from the bakery aisle at the grocery. It was NOT strawberry shortcake. True strawberry shortcake should be biscuit like and contain, oh, I don't know, strawberries. What I got would be more accurately described as "sponge cake smothered in vanilla pudding and whipped cream, decorated with a single strawberry". That's right. One. Not even in the middle but just part on top and on the sides to give me delusions there would be more strawberries in the middle, which there weren't. Since when is pudding even involved in this dessert? Why is it no one seems to make the shortcake right either? I could've saved myself some loot and just bought myself a strawberry, a Hunts Snack Pack Pudding cup and a Twinkie.

Today I talked to my daughter while my guy was mowing the lawn. I played tag w/him, moving from room to room, so I could hear my daughter. What a laugh!!

I tried to do creative things today, but ended up doing the mundane stuff....

I finally finished the first draft of my novel! It's taken years for me to get it done, so it's a great relief to be able to say this.

Now I'm moving to the next one...
