Why We Are Here

What U Did Today is an idea that came to life when a few of us got together and realized that in today's world, so often, friends and family are separated by great distances. Sometimes these distances are due to geography, just as often, they're emotional. Nonetheless, we all realized that sometimes we would just like to be able to tell SOMEONE how our day was. So we started this site as a place where anyone can come and tell the rest of us what happened today. Triumphs, small or big, are welcomed, and the inevitable losses we all suffer (and are far more in number it always seems) will be shared as well. Unless you advise us otherwise, we will post your first name and location with your entry. But don't worry, your other information will NEVER be shared. So go ahead, open up, Send us an email telling us how your day was, we all have THOSE days, good and bad....and it's always better when you know that SOMEONE is listening.

I actually cleaned off my coffee table! All this time I was starting to think the surface actually was junk mail.

Today i remembered that life is not a dress rehearsal, and that there is not one moment to waste on things one never really wanted.

I went to the library to borrow some travel books today because I'm preparing for my graduation trip very soon. Can't wait for it!

Today I started a new photo blog and web forum for the greatest bunch of Gamer guys in the Pasadena/LA area. We all play Warhammer 40k and needed to get more social interaction. I'm the secretary - I think it's because i'm the only girl. :)

Today I tried to deposit a check my friend gave me and this bank's ATM wouldn't take it! It's one of these fancy machines that takes the actual check, scans it and puts a picture of it on your receipt. I had to walk another six blocks out of my way to go to some archaic ATM that uses envelopes. (gasp!)

For the record, it would take me a half hour to get to my actual bank which is why I stooped to all this silly ATM business.

Stayed up way too late watching that show, the Deadliest Catch. The saddest part is it was on my Tivo so there was no reason to be doing this, but once I started I got far too engrossed in their fishing boat drama.

Today I re-discovered a park a few blocks from my house that I sincerely forgot existed. It made me wish I had a dog or someone with me to enjoy it with me.

Today I went kayaking on Puget Sound. It was the first time I'd even been in a sea kayak actually on the sea, and it was not as intimidating as I thought it might be. I saw a couple seals, and a sea lion, maybe a whale next time! Anyway, it was a great time...

Today I added you to my Technorati Favorites per Garry Conn's update. Also did a termite inspection in beautiful Hawaii! Now you know more about my day than my family, many thousands of miles away. What a great idea for a blog!

Today I cleaned out my fridge. It was the scariest
thing I've done in quite a long time.

I may never eat vegetables again.

Today I finished another part in my novel. It was a section I had been putting off for months, in a novel I've been working on intermittently for nearly a decade. I may be very behind schedule in getting in done, but I feel very secure in the fact I will get it done within a few weeks.
